Bisley Marquees and Hire Company (Bisley Leisure Hire Ltd) is a marquee and event hire company, supplying a vast range of equipment for events throughout Gloucestershire and beyond. Bisley Marquees was founded by David and Caroline in 1997, who both still work in the business, and it has grown into one of the largest marquee and event hire companies in Gloucestershire.

Bisley Marquees supply a wide range of events with equipment including frame marquees, traditional pole marquees, toilet trailers, refrigerated trailers, generators, furniture, and ancillary items. Events include, but are not limited to, high-end weddings, private parties, corporate hospitality, sporting events, military events, temporary infrastructure and warehousing. The wide range of projects undertaken by Bisley Marquees mean that no two days in the business are ever the same, this varied role will require candidates to be both reactive and proactive and to think on their feet.

Role Purpose

· To represent Bisley Marquees and Hire Company as a Account and Operations Manager, taking responsibility for the delivery of projects on time and to the high standards expected of Bisley marquees.

Responsibilities - Sales

· Responding to enquiries with formal quotations and CAD drawings, with a focus on conversion, ensuring a high level of professionalism and efficiency is maintained at all times

· Proactively seek out new business opportunities

· Manage our online CRM system for all enquiries and live bookings

· Arrange and carry our site visits with clients, assessing suitability of site and confirming job requirements with clients

· Ensuring clients are aware of Bisley’s full offering, and have the knowledge to make informed decisions

· Maintaining client relationships to ensure repeat business for year-on-year bookings

· Marketing of Bisley Marquees and Hire Company, including Social Media, website management, and press / publication

· Coordinating the annual Marquee Open Weekend / Open Day event

Project Management

· Managing all ongoing projects in unison, being aware of stock levels and availability

· Allocating the correct number of staff / vehicles / plant / equipment to each project

· Scheduling projects and working with the Marquee Foremen to ensure they completed within the allocated timeframe

· Ensuring the Warehouse Manager / Foremen / Drivers have the correct delivery information and details they require to fulfil their roles

· Maintaining accurate stock records, and ordering supplies when required

· Making sure that projects are signed off by the onsite team with the client, and relevant paperwork has been returned to the office

Office Management

· Handling incoming calls and emails

· Diary and schedule management

· General office administration

· Ensuring the company complies with MUTA guidelines

· Maintaining company records

· Carrying out relevant RAMS

Person Specification


· Experience in a management position, minimum of 1 year

· A professional, honest representative of the Company with excellent communication skills both written and verbal

· Ability to plan ahead and keep track of multiple projects, with outstanding time management and ability to prioritise projects when working to tight deadlines

· Excellent organisational skills, and an eye for detail

· Problem solving and thinking on your feet

· A strong team player, working within the office team and site crew

· Able to work under your own initiative


· Knowledge of the marquee industry, or of events and hire

· Knowledge of transport / logistics and scheduling

Working Hours

· Due to the nature of the industry there will be some evening client meetings (mostly zoom) and occasional weekend work, including the annual open weekend. Time will be taken back in lieu on these occasions

· We work 37.5 hours a week, either 8.30am - 4.30pm or 9am - 5pm

Marquee Erectors - recruiting from March 2022

We recruit each year for Marquee Erectors to join our team for the peak season. The full Marquee season is April to October, but we have shorter term roles according to availability. We start actively recruiting in March until we fill all vacancies.

Our seasonal marquee erectors work with and support the permanent team to build marquees for weddings, parties and corporate events. The role is physically demanding and involves being outside in all weathers, but as our team will tell you it is a rewarding and a very varied job. We have university students who will join us for several seasons on temporary contracts.

We work Sunday to Monday each week, with everyone taking turns to work on Sundays. We recruit for full time roles (5 day weeks) and also part time (3 or 4 days), as we can easily work 12+ hour days many of our seasonal staff choose to work 3 or 4 days a week. We start each day at 7.30am and work until the job is finished and ready loaded for the next build.

The main role includes building marquees, laying flooring, setting up furniture and installing electrics/lighting. Other aspects of the job include driving vans and trailers (depending on licenses) loading vehicles, picking orders and cleaning and maintenance of the equipment.

Cleaners - recruiting from March 2022

We are looking for cleaners to join our team for the 2022 (April to September) season to clean our luxury toilets and shower units. 

Roles available from 8+ hours a week and ideally over a Tuesday and Wednesday each week, although there is some flexibility in this. Based at our warehouse between Miserden and Birdlip. 

This could be an employed or self-employed position.
